ooperative Heat Transition with Multi-Level Optimization Considering Consumer and Supplier Synergies – Case Study of Schweinfurt (KoopWärme)
Objective
The aim of the project is to develop an innovative multi-level optimization model that incorporates the diverse perspectives and economic interests of all stakeholders. The optimization approach is designed to develop various investment strategies for both energy suppliers and consumers, while also aligning electricity tariffs accordingly.
Project content
Achieving a cost-efficient and widely accepted heat transition requires careful planning of where and how renewable heat sources are integrated into existing infrastructure. The effectiveness of this transformation depends on many local factors -such as building age, ownership structure, and socio-economic diversity. The KOOP-WÄRME project focuses on aligning the preferences of homeowners with those of energy providers. It aims to optimally guide investments and ensure a fair economic balance between all stakeholders. In the case study of Schweinfurt, optimal locations for renewable heat sources will be identified, and efficient heating supply systems will be planned. The newly developed open-source modelling tool will allow city utilities to conduct scenario-based planning and further analysis to support the heat transition.
Digital Guide for SMEs on the Technical Implementation of the EU Green Deal and the Energy Efficiency Act (enefit)
Objective
The project aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mainfranken in implementing energy efficiency and decarbonization measures.
Project content
The enefit project supports SMEs in Mainfranken in implementing the EU Green Deal and national energy efficiency legislation. It addresses specific technical and economic challenges, as well as the lack of industry-specific solutions. This is especially relevant in areas such as highly efficient systems, waste heat utilization, and the use of new energy sources like hydrogen. The enefit platform acts as a digital technology assistant and offers customized, interactive online solutions for businesses. In this way, the platform supports sustainable decision-making through intelligent digital solutions.
